Sara recently started a tumbling class in the cafeteria of the local middle school. Kinda’ crazy cause it’s the same cafeteria where I ate my soggy Ham n’ Cheese in the 7th grade. Today, Collin I had the pleasure of taking Sara to her class. I’d argue there’s nothing more precious than a bunch of tiny 3 years olds rolling, hopping, skipping, and cart-wheeling around an ancient school cafeteria floor lined with big puffy blue mats. And the Donkey-Kicks, ha-Ha! Just writing that name makes me chuckle. I can tell you, Sara wasn’t the only one with an ear-to-ear grin.
After Sara’s tumbling we had to zip up the hill to Collin’s Little League practice. Today was picture day. Hopefully the monkeys had their cheesiest grins on, despite the ominous black cloud that rolled towards them. Pictures were finished and it was time to play some ball. Collin seemed to have a little extra mustard on his throws today; a little extra zip in his swing; his wheels were spinning with an extra shot of Nitro! Whoo! What might be the reason for this? I’m not sure. But he did get to witness his favorite Red Sox hit four consecutive Homers with four consecutive batters the night before against the rival Yankees. Impressive? Yup. Inspirational? Possibly. Motivational? To a seven year old? Absolutely…
Collin went on to be the only one to catch a pop-fly. Awesome. And, after the catch, he stepped on second base to get the runner out that didn’t tag up. DOUBLE PLAY!!
“All right! You two have had a great day! You guys Hungry? How ‘bout some Wendy’s”
“YAY!! Can we go inside and eat?”
After some careful consideration… “I guess we can do that”
And when the gentleman behind the counter asks what kind of Frosty they would like with their kids-meals; Chocolate or Vanilla?
COLLIN: “Chocolate!”
SARA: “Mallilla!”
